Hey guys so I currently have an iPhone 5. It's slow, pisses me off and has this annoying glitch. It wont let me accept calls, unlock my phone until double pressing the lockbutton. Doing this also declines calls. Yeah, it sucks.

My friend is offering me her iPhone 6 for $100. The issues with this device is it's smashed and only has 16gb. I currently have 64gb and use 32, but I could definitely delete some things. I could also get the screen replaced for $50. What do you guys think? This is short term as I plan on upgrading to the iPhone 8 because it sounds great.

So, all together it will cost you $150.00 with the screen replacement. If your iPhone 5 is restricting you from answering calls, I would say you don't have much of a choice.

But Long term, I would purchase your friends iPhone if you're comfortable with it. That would at least hold you until September.

Agreed with the others. Especially if you can trust your friend and it isn't any sort of scam or a more faulty or stolen or locked device.

Thanks guys it is a bargain tbh. I can trust her too. She said she might give it to her mum though so we'll see. I'm applying for my first job and I can just see myself getting a call and having no choice but to decline it or leave it to ring and ring them back myself. NOT GOOD. If I do get the phone, I have to wait until later on in January.

True! Make a profit. Does that mean I'm scamming my friend? lmao
Not really. This comes under the "Bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" rule. Your friend would be getting $150 and not dealing with the hassle of ebay or craigslist (to name a few ways to sell). I've sold every IP since the 3G for up to $200 more than I paid for them a year earlier (re the $199, $299, $399 down payments). However, that wasn't a profit since I paid a year of service fees to boot. Still, it reduces the cost of having an iphone.

If you buy this phone, you'll have the same monthly cost for service even though you probably will get the $150 back.

Its not a bad deal, but have you considered to see how much your iPhone 5 would cost to fix out of warranty. Also, since it doesn't have Touch ID, you could also try places like U Break I Fix.

For me, the less storage is a deal breaker. I have not had a 16 GB iPhone since my 3G. Everyone since has been the highest storage option. For me that helps because I now have a large Camera Roll full of Pics and Videos that started from my 3G and even though they are synced to my computer, I don't want to delete them from my phone. Also, I have kept my complete Messages history and I still sync about 30 GB of music to the device.

What is U break I fix? Also I don't use much storage. I deleted the apps I don't use anymore and now I only have used 17gb.

Thanks everyone. Turns out she's not getting a new phone for bday. :( Guess I'm sticking with this crap for another 8 months
