A lot of times when I open the workout app the watch becomes unresponsive. It's not just lag, I mean that the digital crown and literally everything stops working. Usually I just sit there tapping on the screen for about 15 seconds, and then the watch comes back alive and selects the workout I've been tapping.

I also occasionally have this extended lag when I use Siri, or when notifications come in, I get a tap, but no notification for 15 seconds or so.

None of this happened when I first got my series 3, so that's why I'm thinking about wiping it and starting over.

NOW HERE'S A WHOLE OTHER TOPIC

My wife started boxing and her series 1 is freezing a lot, pausing her workouts, naughty stuff like that. This is only when she boxes and we think the boxing gloves are pressing buttons and freaking the watch out. But here's what I don't understand: even when she locks the watch (so none of the buttons work?) the watch still pauses her workouts or freezes entirely. So I'm thinking about wiping hers too to see if that will fix it. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

No input your workout issue but I do have a suggestion for your wife to try before starting a boxing workout. Have her set the "Water lock" button in the control center. This will disable screen touch and the side button until she turns the Digital Crown to unlock the screen.

Yeah, but even with screen lock, pressing both the side button and crown still pause workouts I believe. When I do CrossFit, there are times where I move the watch to the inside of my wrist as I will most like pause the workout when doing Cleans and front squats with the bar

If that's the case, erasing her watch won't help I guess. Thanks for letting me know about this

Maybe your wife could see what happens if she flips the watch so that the crown is on the wrist side instead of the hand side? I’ve read some people wear it like that to avoid accidentally pressing the buttons.
