Should I expect the iOS 5 GM today?

They prob won't release a GM until ip5 is released. The fact that no new version of the beta has been released is prob another solid clue that it's ready and ip5 is actually just around the corner.

They MUST give the devs a few weeks with the GM so that they can update their apps to iOS 5. Apple is not accepting any apps with iOS 5 only APIs yet. If they give the GM on release day the iPhone will ship with no apps in the store that take advantage of iOS. Not gonna happen. Also apple needs time to install the GM image on the iPhones that have been made and are sitting in storage.

That would be the norm. The public version would probably release 2 weeks later which should coincide with the next gen iPhone.

I have a feeling we might not see any more beta releases for iOS 5 - and the remaining testing will be done behind closed doors before the GM.

If this is true, then maybe apple hopes to add new features that it has not announced "One more thing" to coinside with a hardware release such as voice recognition etc ......

Now if that does happen it could also mean that apple then delay the release of the GM for 2 weeks after the announcement so that developers can update their apps and submit them.

the GM seed will be released on the same day the iPhone 5 will be announced, this has been the same for every other GM seed
