Nope just installed windows via an external optical drive using bootcamp.

I have a late 2013 27" iMac with a 1TB fusion drive and I installed windows via bootcamp just fine, what are you talking about?

I think his info is just old. I believe there was a problem installing windows 8 with fusion drive when fusion drive was very first released but they fixed it with a update along time ago.
