Should I get Limewire?

Hey guys, I know that it's wrong to download Limewire and everything, but I can't afford to buy dozens of songs off iTunes. The main reason why I want it though is because of the rare songs that aren't available on iTunes.

I know that it was horrible when I downloaded it on my PC because it slowed everything down so is it safe to download it on my Mac or no?
