Hi everyone

I thought I post my question here as I didn’t want to start a new thread..

I have the choice of either one 30" display or two x 23" display. These would be used in the studio and to get an idea of how they would look with regards to workflow and feel of the studio, I have a few CAD images at the following link:

:apple: http://www.adhe29.dsl.pipex.com/display.htm

:D The last two images of the studio on the page I superimposed an actual size cardboard cut out i made and placed the logic studio screen shot at the respective display size at its optimum screen resolution of logic studio.

Any Opinion, and help would be most welcome on what looks best, what would be better, what would you do... etc which would you get given the choice for its intended use.

:)

Thanks
Regards
I would take the two 23" monitors but thats just me.

Should I go dual or not?
BTW, nice studio setup! What are you doing with it, mostly?

I personally like dual monitors more than a single display - not only can you use two (or more) applications per window or stretch video timelines across much wider spaces, you've got built-in redundancy. If one monitor fails, you've got a second sitting right there and your computer isn't crippled until you can get a replacement. It might feel crippled after you got used to the extra windows, but it will remain functional.

That said, for audio mixing, I think I might prefer the single larger display with the layout you have in the picture. Having both the tracks and the mix interface both within a few inches of each other could be very handy, and would eliminate a lot of looking back and forth. Mostly, it will come down to which fits into your workflow better. If you'd prefer more productivity with basic apps like Word and Excel, get the dual. If you'll hardly ever use anything but Logic, and don't want to look back and forth between monitors all day, then get the larger single.
