Got roughly 200gb free.

Hmm maybe you need 1 TB but you need to make that decision based on how you use the data on your iPhone. First why do you have almost 244 GB of Photo's stored on your iPhone vs iCloud or your Mac / PC?

I'm a firm believer in always buying more than I need. Generally that's because I want to, but also because I don't want to be in the spot of not having enough.

With iPhones, it's not like you can increase or decrease capacity once you've got your phone. And I don't upgrade very often. I don't like playing guessing games.

Since 2007, iPhones never had the microSD slot so buying larger storage for future proofing is what you should have done... Also, apps of today are already hundreds of megabytes without user data so just using the app for several hours already adds several megabytes to the used storage...

I have started from scratch with my iPhone 13 Pro 512GB running iOS 17.7 and browsing Facebook since yesterday, which is 341.7MB app size, accumulated 590.6MB of documents and data storage... This is just the second day since performing Erase All Content and Settings yesterday...

Alternatives to getting a 1TB phone would be:
  • Offload your photos/videos to a computer or external storage, especially large videos that you don't need to carry around all the time.
  • Use iCloud Photos and store them in the cloud.
    • If you're already using this, then turn on 'Optimize iPhone Storage'.
