I’ve been eyeing the 11” iPad Pro but after reading posts on the forums it seems like it’s just not ready yet. Many apps I would use aren’t optimized for it and tempered glass screen protectors, which I love using on my 9.7, seem to have issues with the 11”. Additionally a lot of reviews point out that the new iPad Pro is held back by iOS, and I’ve read that a lot of changes and improvements for iPad are expected to come in iOS 13. So, should I just wait a few months for some good discounts to start and for developers to catch up? What are your experiences upgrading?

Personally, I haven’t upgraded because in day to day use there isn’t enough to entice me to buy a new pro. Still happy with my first generation.

But on the other hand, life is short. As long as it’s no financial problem for you, I recommend to get what inspires you.

Entirely depends on what you do. Be forewarned: once you upgrade to the 11-inch, in about two weeks it will feel no diffrent from the 9.7 (though if you do go back to a 9.7, it will seem comically small). In other words, you’ll soon get so used to the larger size that the joy of “bigger” just fades away into ennui. I speak from my own experience, YMMV.

Upgraded from a 9.7 IPP to an 11 and have not regretted it for once second. The fact that some apps are slow to update their resolution isn't something I would want preventing me from using it. I love Face ID, love the increased screen size on the apps that support it, love the speed, etc.

I traded my 9.7 pro at the Apple Store for an 11 and I am also loving it so far. 120hz display is awesome and the extra screen space feels great. The whole thing feels like a much more modern device. Is it worth the cost though? Not so sure. But I can’t go back so I am enjoying it.

I held off for a while, but I’ve had mine about 2 weeks, and I’m not sorry. Now I came from the 2018 iPad, having sold my 12.9 pro last spring with the plan of going smaller. Obviously coming from the regular iPad, the pro is a fairly big jump, but I HAVE owned pros before, so it’s not like I didn’t know some of the differences.

I have a glass screen protector on mine, and haven’t had a single issue with it. Mine has no bend anywhere; not even slightly. It has a gorgeous screen, and the screen definitely feels a good bit larger than the 9.7 I was using, even though it’s not technically THAT much bigger. However, when I fold it up to take it with me somewhere, it’s overall about the same size/weight as my 9.7 - just has a lot of bang for the buck in that size “package.”

I have come across very few apps, in my use case, that aren’t optimized, and yeah, it’s a bit pricey, especially because I always buy LTE, and this time was no exception. For me though, it’s my main device, and a computer replacement, so I have zero regrets.

In short, I absolutely love it!
