iPod touch Should I just turn PUSH off?

If you go to Fetch New Data under Settings it says you can turn PUSH on and off.
Should I just turn it off since my yahoo email doesn't use PUSH and it doesn't yet work for third party apps?

I wonder if having if having it off would save battery life.

I've had it both on and off and haven't noticed any difference in battery life.

Supposedly turing it to off saves battery life, I have mine off.

But when you turn it off you have lost the value of the function. It serves a useful purpose for me--I like automating the downloading of information I want to have.
