If your contract is over, then you aren;t looking for TMO to pay your ETF. Why not just try TMO? Have ATT unlock your phones. Test the network out yourself. I never recommend blindly switching to a network, especially if there are no immediate perks (like getting paid to switch).

Crap-Mobile's prices have slowly inflated bit-by-bit while their network hasn't grown at all... just do your homework!

There's actually quite a bit of rural LTE coverage now and along highways. Geographically they have expanded a lot in the last 6 months.

Happy so far with ATT. I have had them since the iPhone 4s came out. Contract is over. Should I switch over, how does everyone like it? I live in Buckhead, GA.

Thoughts

thanks.

Living in Buckhead/Atlanta T-Mo will cover you great! BUT if you travel any you will lose service when you get out of the cities. I do the FL GA highways all the time and my friend who has T-Mo has to borrow my phone (ATT) because he has no service a good bit of the time.

Is there still a resturant called the Crossroads located in Buckhead? They had the greatest seafood and lobster! YUM!;)

I had t mobile I live in Buckhead the coverage sucked even with a booster drove 1 hour south airport no service drive to the mountains no service I went to att great coverage and att is getting wifi calling
Your May have better luck with T-Mobile I'll never go back

At least out in northern Arizona territory, T-Mobile has the better coverage outside major metropolitan areas. A large swathe of territory from Flagstaff, north through Utah towards Grand Junction, CO is all "Off Network" for AT&T which means they keep threatening to terminate your contract if you use more than 100MB of data. T-Mobile has native coverage in some of the smaller town out here (Page AZ, Kanab UT) and they have decent 4G network (no LTE).

Right. Maybe I'm a little too cynical with AT&T, but "sometime in 2015" is very soft even for them. At least Verizon was saying "first half of 2015" IIRC.

Yeah, it's $100 and there's no current rebate on the website. Even if I got the femtocell, after a walk around the apartment and balcony, I flitted between 1 bar LTE and 2 bars 4G. It's just the area we live in. Cell signals are crap in this wooded valley our development's located. Is dealing with Retentions worth the hassle?

Retentions never hassle you. They are there to keep customers happy. I would definitely call and say you are tempted to go to TMO because of the free WIFI calling and tell them you can't deal with the bad signal a moment longer. I've heard of them giving boosters out for free to keep you from switching.

Stayed with ATT. they never fail me, so why not.

And no idea. i don't eat out too much!! But i'll check it out one of these days for sure. I'm more of a steak guy.

Beware of T-Mobile. Once you leave the city limits your shiny new iPhone 6 becomes a large iPod Touch.

I wouldn't recommend tmo or Sprint to anyone who does any amount of travel or leaves the metro areas. Stick with at&t or Verizon as their service areas are vast. However, if you stay put and are looking to switch, do your homework on reception in your area.

FWIW, I was at the Super Bowl and my A T & T iPhone 6 was useless. I had an old flip phone that is contracted to a local Alaskan company and it roamed to T-Mobile and worked fine, at least I could make calls.

Try to the test drive and see how it goes. If tmobile is great around your area then why not go for it? worse case you switch back.

My sister has Tmo and it doesnt even work in parts of a major city like Orlando. There must be something up with the network . My Att iphone worked fine while she could only listen to music she had stored on her iphone with no data or cell service. So Tmo might be cheaper but they're service are more likely spotty as well.

Plug your zip or address into here.

I live in Dallas, home of AT&T with its robust LTE coverage and VoLTE, and T-Mobile actually has better coverage at my house.

New York City and Long Island is okay with TMobile. They sent me a router for wifi calling use. I haven't installed it. I'm using a Time Capsule and it ain't broke so I'm not fixing it.

The OP already decided to stay with ATT--Good Choice

TMO treated me like crap when I had to leave and I told them it was only because I had no coverage where I needed it most. IE business calls.

I had to make a call 1 mile off I75 in Troy OH and couldn't even make call with TMO. Had to drive closer to interstate. I get full bars there with ATT.

Yes, it does depend where you live as far as which carrier may be better for you.

But, I travel I70 from Dayton Ohio to Lancaster PA and ATT is far better than TMO was on that route. And, when I get to Lancaster. I even get better signal than Verizon right outside their store with their tower within site. Not sure how that happens--

I have found that bad customer service can happen wherever you go. :( When we were on TMO (gosh it must be five years ago now) it was ok where we lived in CA, but moving to central IA we had almost no service. They did the router thing (free), they really did try everything they could, but it just wouldn't cut it. They finally just opted to get us out of our contract completely, free of charge, and we got to keep all of our handsets, the router, everything. They were nothing but friendly the whole time.

I really have no reason to defend them, especially since I haven't really looked back (well I did try them again off contract and it just wasn't up to snuff in the Boston Metro area). Most of my experiences with AT&T have been good, but I have had some sour Apples. Verizon (both wireless and FiOS) have had the rudest people to deal with, in my personal experience. I think out of the small handful of times I called them, I got one instance where I wasn't left feeling like I had to defend myself or refuse paying ridiculous additional fees.

----------

Didn't know they still had this, but either way, by all means possible test drive their network before committing to it.

Me neither. I should have done this. I actually had to pay out of pocket for my "test run". I just bought a month of off contract service. Their test drive they even give you a 5S (to use). Crazy!
