I'll be opening it up anyway to upgrade RAM from 8GB to 32GB, since its already open, should i repaste it?
Seen mixed reports as for the benefits.

In both the PC and Mac worlds, the best overall benefits I have seen are from using liquid metal, thermal grizzly conductonaut appears to be the most popular. I have seen it reduce the overall temp of the MBP/MM by 10 degrees and significantly reduce thermal throttling.

Need to be careful though, gallium eats copper/aluminum (slowly) so careful application is required.

Yeah I remember, also saw some stuff floating around that supports better thermals.
Still, I really don't want to use liquid metal

As I understand it, you'll be using the computer for music. Why is this even an issue?

I think that this is all about boys suffering from Lego withdrawal and looking for stuff to tinker with.

Get AppleCare+, which costs US 9 cents a day, and don't worry about it :)

I used to build PC boxes. :D

apple care is fishy here, because apple is not officially in my country we need to do everything via resellers. i have to buy applecare from germany or something like that

You've seen this on a 2018 Mac mini? If so, details please.

Couple of videos on Youtube and others on Reddit have tried it. I have the i7 but they all appear to be done on the i3/i5. Not really sure there would be any real benefit with the i7 given the heat it pushes out.

i7 should benefit even more from better cooling

It should but better paste/liquid metal can only do so much if the device can't expel the heat quick enough then it won't help much. And the Mini is still not so great at that so the heat still builds up too quickly.
