Hi,

I have a 2013 macbook pro and it's still powerful (i7, 16gb, etc.). My only complain is that I feel the battery doesn't last as long as before. OBVIOUSLY.

I installed a tool Battery health 2. From what I read, my battery "health" is at 85 % which isn't that bad, no ?

My battery had 818 cycles so far.

So I'm thinking, if I change my battery, will I really have longer running time or it's only because new mac os version are just draining more energy.

818 cycles is pretty high but 85% health isn't that bad ?

What do you think ?

thanks

I went through that early last year with my late-2012 MBP 13. I spent $200 at the Apple store. The new battery got me a little more time, but nothing like when the MBP was new.

I upgraded to a new MBP 3 weeks ago. HUGE difference. So, I think you will some result, but not as much as you would expect.

If you're planning to keep it for the next few years I'd recommend doing that through Apple before these machines become "vintage" next year. it costs $199 and they replace the whole palm-rest since the battery is glued to it (so you'll get a new keyboard, new battery, new casing)
