Hi guys. I just bought 16 MBP last week. (i9 4.8Ghz - 32GB RAM - 1TB Storage - 5500M 8 GB VRAM)

Most likely Apple will announce their new 16 inch models next months but there is one more thing should I consider. I live in Turkey and Turkish lira depreciated 20 percent against the dollar. Even If they announce it same price, I wont be able to buy them same price again.

I need your opinion. Do you think there will be much difference between the new models and the current one? Can I use my current 16 inch for next 6,7 years?

Thank you

Well the premise is actually a bit off here; Nothing points to Apple releasing a new 16" soon. Only a 13" is seemingly up for refresh. The 16" is not expected to get refreshed until the middle next year. - Keep your Mac and be happy :)

Some rumors says, it will come with 10th gen CPUs, new GPUs and 1080p camera. Even if it is true, I guess I should skip this generation. I can wait 5,6 year more, then sell what I have and buy directly ARM Macs.

Right, sure, there is a possibility for another Intel based 16" Pro though I kinda doubt we'll see that soon as well. But even if it does come, the 10th gen chips are a minor improvement for the 16" - not really worth it. The GPUs will be a substantial improvement if what AMD has showed off so far holds, but the 5000-series is still great, and the value of a slightly better webcam - well, that's for you to determine but to me it matters diddly squad. If I want better video of myself I use my DSLR, though obviously that's a less portable solution.

The current 16" is still fully worth its salt, even if a new one were to come with minor improvements in all areas except for the GPU which could be somewhat meaningful, but again, the 5000-series is still good even if what comes next is a bit better

Thank you for the answer, Btw Isn't it a problem that the current Macbook Pro will have one year less software support? I have never used a macbook before but as far as I heard, we will not able to install some applications in the app store when the software support over. Though, I know of my friends who installed Catalina on their old Macbook in some way. (2011-2012) And they still use their macbooks for their everyday work and they are still satisfied.

So an Intel Mac won't be able to install apps compiled for ARM. This will include non-Catalyst iOS apps. But this is true from the start regardless of support lifespan.
As for the OS itself, nobody can really say for sure how long software support will last for the last of the Intel Macs, but one thing is all but 100% sure. Once it stops, you won't be able to use a patcher tool to get it running on unsupported Macs like you mention with your friend's 2012. That said you won't necessarily lose out on all that much. Even if you will at some point lose support for the latest OS, it will only be the new features of that OS you won't get. Support from app developers and security updates will likely last much longer.
And I've put my money where my mouth is on this - I'm writing this from a top end 2020 iMac, which is most likely also the last of the Intels

Catalina supported the 2012 models officially, the patcher would have been needed for the 2011..
