Seeing how everyone still loves the 2012 mac mini and right now I have the newest 4gb mac mini. Would it be wise to sell this mac mini in order to purchase the 2012 mac mini???
Go for it! Looking at how apple is not allowing user upgrades rams, I doubt this will change with the 2016 (if there is a 2016). Probably the 2016 will only drive the 2012 price up higher...

Better graphics card, faster Wi-Fi, PCie or whatever it's called, and 4K movie output via HDMI. Also possibly less Bluetooth interference, though I never have any problems.

It really depends on what you are doing with the Mini. Everyone was waiting for the refresh 2014 and was disappointed because of no quad core. If you are doing regular general computer activity, then the 2014 is the better selection. If you need to do more processing (like video or graphics), then you might consider the 2012 model but needs to be i7 quad core.
When the 2014 model came out, I instead bought a 2012 i7 quad core because I do video production (lighter side), so the quad core was more of a requirement for me.
There are plus and minus for each of those models. Look over both tech specs and see which fits what you need. Both are good, but depending on your needs.
