the i5 is much better then the core 2 duo. You have more memory and the Intel HD 3000 is way quicker then the 9400. Also since the iMac has a normal HDD it will feel so much slower then the Mini with SSD.
However, what do you do with the mini? because in the imac you are getting a screen camera speakers etc. So you need think about whats more convenient and if the power of the iMac would be enough for you.

Looking just at the specs of the two machines then NO. If you do, you could actually sell the iMac and then make a profit.

Thanks, I thought maybe the screen, superdrive etc would make up for the lower specifications.. But I've decided to keep the Mac Mini 2011, I personally love it, but just prefer the screen on iMacs, thought it might be decent even though the Early 2009 model has a TN display..

Anyway Thanks, I'll probably just save up some money and buy the latest generation iMac and sell the Mac Mini 2011 another time..

I would definitely not trade, i5 processor is still a modern and strong cpu whereas the core 2 duo is starting to get old now
