my iPad mini 2 was bought in Dec 2013

I did not update the iOS since then. The version is 7.0.3

I had NIGHTMARE with my fully-functional iPhone 4S. I updated the iOS last year, it became extremely slow and lagged and then rendered useless.....

Is iPad mini 2 now too old to update the iOS?

I know once it updates there is no turning back the clock so I am looking for the most honest advice

Than k you!!!!

From what I've read the Mini 2 runs iOS 9.3.1 fine. If you had the original mini then I would say don't do it.

It's totally fine to update the iPad mini 2 to the newest software! Should keep it running smooth! Not updating it will run the risk of apps starting to misbehave etc because they are constantly updating to be run on the newest software
