I've finally brought an iPhone 3g (on o2 UK payg), and iTunes is telling me that it's firmware is 2.1 and I should update to 2.2. However, after browsing a few threads on here (I only registered today but have been browsing the forums over the past week for research) I understand that firmware 2.2 cannot currently be jailbroken or unlocked. I'm happy with my phone as it is at the moment, but as I travel abroad quite a lot it would be a huge advantage to be able to use a foreign sim card in my phone. I'd also like to be able to install a video camera application if one is available. So - is it worth me updating to 2.2 now and hope that a jailbreak is available soon, or stick with the features of 2.1 with the potential to jailbreak whenever I choose? Thanks.
