I'm running Lion 10.7.5 on my MacBook Pro from late 2011.

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

Should I update to Yosemite? I don't really care about the features of Yosemite, it's more about some applications not being made for Lion anymore... If it's going to make my computer much slower than I don't really think it's worth it.

I recently updated from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to Yosemite 10.10.1 on my

MBP MacBook Pro 64-Bit Core2Duo 2.53GHz MacBookPro5,4 Mid-2009 15" MC118LL/A Unibody aluminum. Upgraded RAM, Internal HDD, and new battery in 2013. Currently 8GB RAM, 1TB HD.
and I cannot tell much difference in performance.

Booting is slower, but normal operations, about the same.

Thanks! I'm still a little undecided though just because yours definitely has better specs than mine...
