Hello folks and I just want your thoughts on this.
I have a Series 5 stainless steel 44mm plus cellular and its in perfect condition...is it worth it to upgrade to the series 7 or should i wait for
the series 8 next year? Battery health is at 92% and I really not sure what I am gaining with the Series 7. Slightly bigger screen and faster charging.....
Love to hear your advise

Thanks

I’m going to be upgrading from a series 5 cellular to a S7. Mainly because I really want blue though…

Exactly. Even S4 records heart rates over that. Way over.
Yeah not what I was saying. I was talking about the ECG app and how it works. Guess I could have made it clearer in the first post.

I have the S4 stainless steel and have no need to upgrade. This S4 is wonderful. Pretty speedy, no lag at all and it’s gotten me off my butt and into the gym daily.

the extra millimeter in size is not worth the upgrade. What is worth the upgrade is the blood oxygen monitor introduced with the S6; so I’ll most likely be upgrading away from my current S4 when Apple introduces another health tracking sensor.

But my S4 is no slouch at all.

The S3 on the other hand; that’s so weird that Apple still sells that, considering it’s super slow and the speakers SUCK.

Faster charging, bigger screen, and brighter AoD are the perks of the Series 7. If that doesn't really interest you on a daily basis, you have your answer.
Blood oxygen as well. I have the series 5 and those are all reasons I’m upgrading.

I also have S5 44mm space black titanium watch. I just ordered the S7 45mm SB titanium. For me getting all the 6 and 7 features feels like a big upgrade. I am excited for blood oxygen, bigger brighter screen and honestly the charging! The faster charging will be nice since I really want to use the watch for sleep tracking but always forget to charge it. That 8 mins for 8 hours of use sounds nice!

You also get blood oxygen reader and always on altimeter. Plus an updated heart rate monitor (it can work with high heart rates up to 150bpm compared to 120bpm on the S5).

My s5 routinely tracks heart rates in 150s and higher during workouts. Whatcha talking about?

I was actually thinking about upgrading this year, I have a S5 alu with 85% battery wear. But the differences are too few for me, I don’t really miss any of the new in the 7 (or 6). So I’m keeping my beloved S5, replacing the battery once it reaches 80%. Maybe next year?

I have a launch day Series 5 and it still looks and feels just as new. Nothing enticing about the Series 7 for me. I usually upgrade every three years to see a big difference

i don't upgrade apple watches as often as i do with iphones. so i'm not upgrading from my S4 aluminum until they change the form factor hopefully in S8.

Series 5 SS SB here, I don’t upgrade. The only difference would be a 20% bigger screen for me and I don’t want graphite with my SB link bracelet.
I hope space black will return with series 8 otherwise I will try titanium SB.

S4 SBSS here.
Upgrade still doesn’t feel that big to me. And the lack of an affordable SBSS version is turning me off…

maybe i‘ll check out the TI version, because it is lighter.. But probably not going to bother this year.

My S5 cellular is only 20 mths old so doubt it, will upgrade the Mrs S3 though it's a dog.

the extra millimeter in size is not worth the upgrade.
Maybe not to you, but the extra size is partly the result of a bigger screen, which means one can use bigger text, which is helpful for people with vision issues. I’m getting my wife an S7 Hermes to replace her S4 for this reason alone.
