Should I upgrade to 3.1.2?

Hey guys,

currently my iPhone is on 3.0.1. I want to upgrade and JB 3.1.2, but have stayed far away from it because of the so-called "memory leak" affecting battery life. I wouldn't want that to affect my already poor battery life.

Anyway, do you think it's safe to upgrade to 3.1.2? I have the iPhone 2G and I want to upgrade because many newer apps require 3.1.

Edit: WOW! didn't expect that another user posted the exact same thing literally right before me.
