I have an SE2 and AW S4 & AW S6 and am wondering if iOS 16 (and subsequently WatchOS9) have most of the bugs worked out and if I should upgrade or keep waiting?

I’ve read a bit that iOS 16 is a real battery drainer, aside from occasional hiccups here and there.

I always update as soon as possible to get the latest security fixes. I’d rather put up with an occasional bug than deal with security related issues

I wait a long time before upgrading. There are two iPhones and 3 iPads to be upgraded time and time again whenever there is a new version. I bet that there are still features in version 15 (and in all the apps) that you have not yet taking into use. So why haste into downloading a ton of bugs to get some options you have lived happily without until now.

A new version always drains the battery for a few days. Lots of internal work is being done. So don't worry about battery drain. Somebody always writes that about every new version.

I updated my iPhone SE 3 last week and I have not noticed any bugs or kinks. Others may have had a different experience.

Second this. I update when it’s already .5 above.

I always upgrade right away, while the previous version is still signed. Gives me a chance to downgrade if needed. Luckily, I've never had to do this. Never encountered any bugs or battery issues. iOS 15.7 is still signed btw.

I'd wait until at least .4 or .5, and would never upgrade to the first releases, especially with the shape Apple is in these days. iOS is so complex that Apple can't keep on top of the cascading bugs. I've been especially amazed with 16 as I've read the endless problem reports on all the biggest Apple-related forums.
