I have an 4.7" iPhone 6 right now, if I pay $30 and trade in my 6 I can upgrade now to an iPhone 6s Plus or wait till the iPhone 7. I am also on the NEXT plan.

Part of the reason why I would upgrade now is by the time I'm due for another upgrade the iPhone 7s Plus will be out.

What do you guys think?

Depends on how happy you are with your 6. We don't know what the 7 will bring...just speculation at this point. But, if you are tired of your 6, go for the 6S Plus right now. Look on the bright side, you'll be getting the 7S plus in Sept 2017, which will fix some of the flaws in the 7 Plus in Sept. 2016.

Get the 6s plus now and then 7 plus when that comes out. Then preorder the 7s and so on and so forth...

There will always be another model just around the corner. Upgrade now.

6S Plus has more powerful chip, bigger screen and longer battery life, if you like the size and decide to go with a Plus since now, I suggest you to upgrade. Think about this, when 7S Plus is out, you can get a better price by trading in a 6S plus than 6.

I have about $150 left until I owe the iPhone 6, if I pay the $30 to upgrade and trade in my 6 would
n't I be losing on money?

You don't have to trade it - you're just responsible for the remaining balance. Sell the phone outright and use some of the money to pay it off.

If you trade in a phone that's almost paid off, you're essentially giving away money. To me it only makes sense if you trade right when you're eligible and the balance is still high enough to make it worthwhile. For example, if you trade right after you're upgrade eligible (month 12 of NEXT 12 when you still have 6 months of payment remaining.)
