This!!! This was the comment that prompted me to spend $4 on a keyboard cover for my 15" Retina. Today I spilled a bottle of water on it and the water just rolled right off!!! (it almost went into the back/bottom vents, but I tipped it at an angle and had no problems!)

Thank you for saving my macbook!!!

No problem :)

My keyboard cover keeps my two st.bernards spit from ruining my computer.

Ditto. But my two troublemakers are my Newfoundland and my GF's 4 year old daughter. I always thought that Beethoven head shake thing from the movie was exaggerated until we got our Newfoundland. Damn thing shakes his head and covers the room from one wall to the other with random drool. There is no stopping it... keyboard protector required.

I use the Moshi and a RadTech cloth when I close the LCD.

I was in the Apple Store the other day and was thinking about buying one, but one of the "geniuses"suggested that if I am touch typist with relatively fast typing ability I would absolutely hate it. I ended up not buying one but after watching some guy spill coffee all over the keyboard of his MBP yesterday at Starbucks I thought to myself maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to use one while out of the house. Anyone else have any thoughts on the "bad for touch typing" idea?

As a fast touch typist, i definitely notice it. Initially, i'd just take it off as needed, but I've gotten used to the feeling of it being on. I still take it off if I'm writing a paper or something, because it is annoying if you're trying to be fast and accurate.

Hmm, couldn't you just use it whenever you are using your laptop and then take it off once you are done using it?
Yes that is what im thinking on doingnor maybe putting a clotch that comes with ur macbook pro on the keyboard cover so when you close it it doesn't make you screen dirty

are you this guy, then get it

I absolutely hate the shiny keyboard effect that you get after using a laptop for a couple of years. Have been using a keyboard cover. Yes, the screen does get dirty, but I haven't noticed any scratches whatsoever.

I guess I just don't want the keys to get all worn out... I feel like if you spill something on your computer and you have a keyboard cover on, it's going to get underneath the cover anyways.

Just seems like they offer very limited protection anyways... maybe being able to save you from a few drops of liquid right in the middle of it.
Yes but if you spill something on it and have a keyboard civer you have more time to flip your laptop upside down to get the liquid off if u dint have one ur dead cuz it goes directly inside the computer
