Hi everyone,
I'm looking to get myself a new Mac Book Pro 13 but having read a few threads over the last few months I'm not sure whether I should dive in and buy now or wait for a new 'better' version either this year or early next???

I use if for work which involves a lot of video - I'm a Coach Developer so I film coaches sessions, do basic editing in iMovie and then upload it to a private YouTube channel.

Thanks for any expert advice (as I'm not!)
Andy

Well if you're expecting anything this year, I highly doubt you'll get it. We'll probably see a 16" soon, but it'll likely be very expensive, sitting above the 15". The 13" was recently upgraded in terms of value proposition; Not adding anything new to the higher end configs, but bringing the entry level up to par with the more mid-tier levels in many ways.
I'd say for a 13", now is a decent time to buy. Not excellent, but far from bad.

Definitely buy the 13” base model 2019 MBP now. If it’s in your budget you’ll really enjoy it. This site has a buyer’s guide that can be helpful, but I wouldn’t waste any more time thinking about.

No problem. If it helps - I’ve had my 2013 base MBP since, well, 2013. A family member always gives me crap about spending money on Apple laptops, but he picks up a new computer every 3 years when his starts crapping out. We spend the same amount of money and I always have a great experience. I always think of how much the device is costing me per year.

There is also a “Buying Tips and Advice” forum on this site that is helpful when trying to decide the which and when for products.

Hope it all works out well!
