I've read that Logic has so many bugs right now and crashes too often. Also, I would get the academic version, which means when there is an upgrade, I can't pay the smaller upgrade price to get the upgrade, and I would be stuck with the buggy version of Logic. I would probably have to pay full price because I might not be a student when the upgrade occurs.

Is Logic due for an upgrade soon? What is its approximate upgrade history?

How long has it been? Late 2007... Hmm... Probably not. No idea, though. Kind of silly of them to release a professional software suite at a consumer expo.

I doubt that we'll see a major upgrade of logic any time soon. Give it a year or two.

However, I haven't had any crashes yet and I've used it perhaps 10 hours/week since it was released. There has been a few annoying bugs though, especially with the take manager messing up the whole project. But with the latest update I haven't experienced any issues yet.
