Im trying to network with my PC. I have them connected with a crossover cable but the mac cannot find the PC. I am guessing it has something to do with my ethernet not lighting up.

Ok its found the network but says i need a password yet it never asks for one. 😕

It is asking for the password for your PC. If you didn't set one that could be the problem. Macs generally work better with PCs if there is a password set on the PC.

Also I don't think the ethernet port lights up. At least it doesn't on my iBook.

I knew you needed one so I set one yet it still does not ask.

I got it all figured out. I opened network connections and there it was. Im copying all my music over as I write this.
