iPhone 14 Pro Should something happen if I long click or hold the dynamic island?

I just got the 14 Pro. I am a little confused about a few things

If I am on safari or any other app, if I hold the island, should it open up? Can I choose to add something to the island to always appear? I know if I am using the timer or play music, it appears in the island but otherwise, nothing happens when I long click.

With nothing to use it my 14 Pro does the same. It's normal.

Also having an issue where parts of the screen isn’t always responsive. May contact apple. Not sure if that’s a software or hardware issue.
