I havent seen much discussed on this so i thought i would ask. Is it good for the phone to turn it off and reboot it every once and awhile or will that have no effect on the performance?

I read somewhere that someone complained his phone had slowed down after a few weeks of use and someone said that the phone just needs to be restarted.

Mines still fine, just asking out of curiousity

I just restart it if my battery life starts shooting down or something else goes awry. Which isn't very often. The iPhone seems reasonably capable of taking care of itself.

Yes I usually restart when my iPhone is really sluggish and/or partially non-responsive. Also, if your apps are crashing on occasion you should restart to free up some memory.

Yeah, its good to sync every once in a while too. A lot of iPods out there slow down if they go a while without syncing. Not sure why but just what ive found over years of iPods.

Generally, you don't need to restart the iPhone unless you notice a problem, but that said, a restart certainly never hurts.
