Chiropractor. I had neck, shoulder, and back issues for years. Usually a trip or two to the chiropractor would work wonders. Just make sure you find the right one for you. I personally prefer someone who is a bit aggressive... I'm not 'cured' but my body is able to recover a lot faster now, btw.
You want to make sure it's not a blown C5 disk in your neck and that the pain isn't due to nerve root compression. If you get pain going down the back of your arm or your little finger begins to tingle...that's the diagnosis.

As always, you should consult your doctor for medical advice. If you haven't already, you may wish to see a certified physical therapist.
Be cautious with chiropractors. Chiropractic is a very diverse field with many conflicting opinions on treatment; some are legitimate, while others are extremely dangerous. Be careful, and when in doubt seek advice from a licensed doctor.

I blew out the L4-5 disk back in 1982, but no surgical intervention was indicated at the time. I did go through some physiotherapy, and a weight bag (water) while sleeping, to reduce the pressure. Rode the commuter train standing for a few months. 😉
