so in the past under music settings there used to be a toggle switch to decide if music stored in the cloud showed. It was great for me as it let me stop the more embarrassing or non season appropriate elements of my iTunes purchases playing by just playing what is stored on the device.

Has this option gone now or am I just being daft?

In the My Music tab, tap the red text that says "Artists" (or Albums, Songs, Genres, Composers, compilations) depending on whatever sorting method you have enabled and it is in that menu of choices at the bottom as a toggle switch.

Ah of course, where else would it be hidden? Haha.
