Show extenral hard drives on desktop

I just installed airport extreme and shared an external hard drive over the wifi. I can see the disk in "shared disks", but how do I automatically let the disk show on my desktop every time I turn om my mba?

Under Finder Preferences, General tab, select show Conncted Servers on desktop.
