So this has been bugging me for about a month now so I figured its time for a post about it. 😱 On my sisters iMac, for some reason the icon previews for pictures don't show up, they are just white empty file icons.
Now let me start from the beginning, when I installed Tiger onto the iMac G5 all pictures were associated with Color Sync for some reason (This didn't happen when I upgraded my G4 iMac though). So I figured the problem with the icons was because the pictures were opening with Color Sync, so I changed all the pictures (jpeg, jpg, tiff, etc...) to open with Preview. Still a no go. The odd thing is, I copied over a bunch of wallpapers from my G4 and like 6 out of 100 show a thumbnail preview, and even when I turn off 'Show icon preview' from View Options those 6 icons still stay on.
So I don't know what to do here, I searched other threads, even deleted launchservices plist files and rebooted as suggested in another thread, and still nothing. This is really starting to bug me. I included an attachment picture of the general problem below. This is bugging me to no end. 😡 If it was mine I'd probably just reinstall Tiger to see if it fixed the problem, but my sister is reluctant to let me do that. 😉 Help.
