That doesn't make sense, except showing off.
Well classic mechanical watches are works of art and to some that doesn’t make a lot of sense. I would love to be able to dual wrist to give my mechanical watches some more wrist time, but just can’t get myself to do it. But nothing but respect for you Stanza for doing it. My Explorer and Speedy needs some more wrist time

For me, they are different instruments: a mechanical watch is something to know the time with style, smartwatch is a wrist computer that could help you during the days. And the mechanicals are beautiful piece of engineering that shines on the wrist.

My Explorer and Speedy

While I also like mechanical watches (as jewellery), what I find a bit hilarious is that folks who - unlike you and me - are snobs about it deride Apple Watch on the grounds that „they all look the same“ … yet themselves gravitate to the same few brands and models of mechanical watches (i.e. the safe choices). To me personally, all the Rolexes and Omegas with (95% of the time) steel bracelets actually look more „identical“ than the Apple Watches in this (and the adjacent) thread with all the different band styles and colours.*

* Edit: and all the Watch faces of course! Mechanicals are always „stuck“ with their one and only dial.

Wearing two watches isn’t a style statement, it’s a desperate attempt to flex brand names. It serves no functional purpose, lacks any sense of taste. There’s no cultural, practical, or stylistic justification for it.

It doesn't have to be a style statement or any of the other items you listed - maybe it's just what the user prefers...

Wearing certain mechanical watches is always a style/taste/feeling thing. Just like if you like wearing a leather bracelet or other jewelry. None of those have “functional purposes”. Like much other fashion etc.

Like I said, I don’t dual wrist myself, but if people like to do that, I’m fine with it.

I love my mechanical pieces but always miss my Apple Watch while wearing them, so often they stay at home - quite a shame.

If Apple had a ring or bracelet or something I would by it instantly, for these days

Genuine question, people who are active and wear tight bands such as the sports loop or the solo loop, do you guys not get itchy overtime with sweat?

I prefer the Nike sports band because they have a lot of perforations which help with air circulation.
