Google Jingwatch. Tones of cool faces, some free some a $1 or $2. It's an app that loads via a certificate. Pretty seemless, about 40k people in the group. Here is another.

That is the AOD sleeping face. As it happens my wake screen is the same, but you also get gold as a background if you want

Yes, that is correct, on the California face you can also change the background to Blue, White and Gold, though the AOD screen will always be black.
