Here's an Apple Watch that isn't shiny and in brand-new condition... I bought this Series 5 (GPS, 40mm, Space Gray aluminum) almost exactly a year ago. I've gone through a dozen watchbands or so, but I'm currently using the Charcoal Sport Loop and I really like it. Regarding the horrible condition of the watch, I work retail so I'm ridiculously hard on this watch, and to make matters worse, I haven't really done anything to protect it. Rather surprisingly it hasn't broken or doesn't look worse. I do regret not putting on a screen protector of some sort when I first got it... That being said, I'll keep using it until it breaks. Then I'll weigh my options and either fix it (and protect the display) or upgrade.

Ergonomics as well as it looks cleaner when you look at your watch.
Understood, you like it better. To be clear - I have not such a loop but thinking about getting one. On my mechanical watches I like wearing NATO straps and I always have them with the loop on the upper side of the watch which does look for me better and also in this way the band doesn't get in the way.

The Apple Loops should be in principle being able to mount them either way.

My new series 6. I’m still torn on how I feel about the color, love the blue at times and at other times it feels a bit too much. Also having a hard time finding bands to match the blue.
I'm glad someone finally said it. I've been biting my tongue since the S6 was announced but the red and blue seem like very niche products. You can match damn near any band with all other colors, be it steel, aluminum or titanium but I've yet to see anything other than a direct color match that looks good with the red or blue.

That said, your setup here looks good as it's dark enough to where it probably almost looks black unless you're in direct light or up close. The blue would probably look good with a black band as well.

You can. I wear my loops with the fold on the top because it looks better on my wrist that way. For larger wrists it won't make a difference, but if you have small wrists, having the loop on the bottom tends to angle the watch face away when you look at it.

My previous watch was a space gray which I literally was able to wear with a suit/tux and it fit right in. Not sure I could pull that off with this blue AW.

You have to realize that the vast majority of users never (or very rarely) change their Watch strap. For them, this just doesn‘t matter at all; they have 1-3 straps that fit/match and that‘s that, regardless of Watch body colour. I don‘t think I have ever seen anyone IRL with a space grey aluminum Watch who didn‘t wear one of the default black straps with it. Blue will be basically the same.

Good point. Out of the small collection I have I really only wear a few.

More often than not I find those that I know with an AW have the OEM strap it came with and if they have additional straps they are the cheap silicone ones off Amazon. I think the £49 price puts a lot of people off, especially if they are not heavily into tech.
