It is actually the other way around.
The black fibers are really raised and much softer/smoother than the red and green fibers.

Finally received this bad boy. Ordered it back during Black Friday, it was out of stock almost everywhere including at Nomad itself.
I will join the Unity train today, but I am not buying that horrific looking band lol

Plastic is a softer material than aluminum, so, no.
