Great setup, David! Would love to see a tour through your pro studio setup and equipment.
Done have sent you a PM!

Ya'all understand that these clean desks are signs of insanity, right? ;-)
Tell me about it, I have over three hundred cables and I am constantly fighting to hide them. OCD to the max!

Very nice!

Mind telling me who made your desk? I'm in the market for something like it.
Of course, I had it custom made by MRack (not sure if they are still about)

Pffft lame no recording booth behind acoustic windows ?
Troller - yes we have one of those too!!!!!!!!!

Show off ...

I'm kidding, that's a very groovy rig you got there and TBF I'm jealous ;)
Well it is the show off thread. I've been a member for years and it is the first time I've showed off that room. I must say, it's so amazing to be in there. Complete sound proofing, only your heart making noise in the room - especially now the 7,1 is in there in place of the old 5,1!

Really great to see MPs dominate recording studios again. It is what Apple was about.
And yet they made a machine poorly optimized for studio work...
Saying this as someone who also bought a nMP for music, BTW.

In defence of Apple, It has launched me into the 21st century in terms of workflow. In the few weeks we've had it we've done so much, so easily and to be frank - perfectly. Midi, Madi, USB, PCIe all flawless here. Machine is silent, Stock blades are lightning fast, 100+ tracks, 100+ huge Kontakt Libraries, 100+ heavy CPU intensive effects - no problems. Apple's won my heart back.

I'm very much looking forward to receiving mine :)
Hoping this thing will last me at least 5 years...

I agree.

I switched to Cubase on Windows a few years ago out of frustration with Apple's hardware offerings. I ordered the nMP knowing it was more likely I'd return it than keep it.

But I'm a convert. This thing isn't going back. Totally flawless with everything I've thrown at it.

So, aside from the fairly obvious setups shown, what do you use your 7,1s and XDRs for?
I use mine for my business; I sell some objects online where the accuracy of the color representations is absolutely crucial, and I'm editing hundreds of photos in a day. The combination of the Mac Pro 7,1 and the big ProDisplay are perfect for my workflow.

No XDRs here (and no intentions of getting one), but: geek stuff. A little amateur-hour video editing, but mostly I'm a geek and like a modular Mac Pro given the OS that runs on it.

Anyone here ordered the wheel? If so, did it came with the wheels already attached or in a separate box?

If you're using logic could you please run the benchmarks project from here and let us know roughly how many tracks you're getting? https://logicbenchmarks.com

(Looks amazing btw)

Looking at your configuration, it seems you already prepare your own RAM ;)

Generally speaking, from where that machine shipped from?
Are Japan received from US too?

Looks like it was shipped fro China to Japan. Box was in perfect condition.
