Three of several faces I use:

(I just can't part with analog hands, can I?)

I tried an all-vertical app layout for a few hours:

… but realized that adding or removing apps would require a lot of shuffling to keep the same layout. So, I went back to what I set up on the second day of ownership. Frequently-used apps centered around the clock face, timers in the upper right, news bottom right, fitness bottom left, weather top left. Settings bottom center, almost like my iPhone. Other apps aren't used too much.

Just got this to stick. I didn't realize Earth could be seen when viewing the Moon.

How did you achieve that? Are you using the os2 beta?

While fiddling with this I noticed that you can tap once and then twirl the earth or moon around as you like, pretty cool & nice when you want to show the watch off to someone :D These planetary models look so freaking good on this little screen, especially the earth at night with the lights showing. It would be awesome to have full scale models of all the planets selectable!

Nope, just 1.0.1.

While spinning the moon around like you mentioned, I just happened to see the earth. It's tricky to find. Once lined up, I held my finger on the screen and pushed the crown with another.

More plants would be really nice, but I just wish I could add complications so I could use this face more often.

Wow you weren't kidding, that was pretty tricky indeed. But I found it, thanks! :) Did you notice that the tiny earth spins in the background if you've locked it in place with the crown and then turn the crown? Pretty cool.

+1 for more complications. Difficult to fit them but I'd be happy with outside temperature + the timer. And they could make earth/moon/solar system toggle with just one changing icon.

EDIT: I found the moon behind the earth too! :D Even more tricky, seriously this could be a puzzle in some point and click adventure... Really cool to turn the crown and see the moon orbiting in 3D.

I'm really hoping we see third party faces soon! Those new Hermes bands come with a face, I guess that could be considered third party. Seems like this is the next step necessary for the Watch to be truly infinite in customisation.

No problem. The spinning tiny Earth is cool. On mine, the face reset after I actually used the watch for something. Oh well, still a cool feature. You're right, the moon is way harder to find.

Me too. It almost has to happen, but it IS :apple:. They will have no problem making us wait.

Been changing the faces everyday. But this one looks very clean and so sophisticated to me. I've had a lot of people interested in the watch cause of it hehe :)

We're getting close to a lunar eclipse; there was also an instance from the solar observatory satellite in the past day or so of a "double eclipse" when the satellite could see both the Earth and the Moon partially blocking the Sun.

If the watch face follows the same alignment, it would explain why the Earth and Moon are both "full" and "new" in your guys' pics.

I've noticed when switching between moon and earth that the point of view seems to be "traveling" from one place to the other in a way that suggests that Apple actually modeled the position of the moon and earth to scale, and according to real-time positions. The movement changes over the course of each month.

This proves it.

There are no limits to the level of detail Apple will strive for. It's impressive.

Found the Moon, held it in place with my finger, and pressed the side buttons for the screenshot. Pretty cool find!

Oh, and I don't know if it's really rendered to scale. The Moon is a lot smaller in the sky than we think.

The bottom row matches the bottom row on my phone, except I've switched Safari with the remote app. The Idea is to add my newest apps to the top of the column and my most frequently used apps closer to the bottom row.

I also try to match the watch face color with my outfit. They definitely need to add more colors! :)

What app are you pulling the "weekend watch face" calorie, minutes & hour detail from?
