Show Sidebar in Photo's

Show Sidebar is greyed out in photos and I have tried the keyboard shortcut too of Command>Option + S but all I get is a ringing . Anyone have any ideas?

No its along the top I tried in the view menu

The sidebar option is greyed out if photos is in edit mode....

I haven't edited so how can I get it from edit mode?
