lord patton macrumors 65816 Jun 6, 2005 1,052 14 Chicago Feb 22, 2007 #4 On my PB, option-F3 (or F4 or F5the sound keys) will bring up the audio pane of the system preferences. alternatively, couldn't you leave it open, hide it when you don't need it, and alt-tab to it when you do? (sorry I don't have an answer about the menu bar)
