I am not sure there is a thread about hard case so I will start with mine...

Speck See Thru Hard Case clear color.

I am surprised not many people have a hard case for their MBP.

Personally I hate them, especially the Speck covers. I buy an Apple product as it really is darn near, if not the thinnest in its class or quality and size. A shield such as the Zagg I find acceptable. Adding even 1-2mm more is just not desirable.

My laptops generally still look pretty scratch-free after 3 years when I generally sell.

Sorry you feel that way. I have the Speck case on both by MBP and my IPhone 4S. To me it adds a nice layer of protection and it does not add a lot of thickness to it either. Plus another added benefit is when I have it sitting on my desk it does not slide nearly as much as it does without the case.

I did not buy a MBP because it was the thinnest in its class. I would have bought a MBA if that is what I wanted. It is already bulky compared to a MBA, so adding a couple mm for worry free use is just not a big deal.

Not sure I would use one with a MBA, but I really don't currently have a need for ultra portability in a laptop since an iPad works fine (for me) for that purpose.

To be honest, a naked laptop doesn't do anything for me either. Maybe a laptop with or without cover being held by Jessica Alba would qualify, but so far no one has posted it. :D

I like this page, it's good for reference. Most of the time on Speck's / Incase's websites, their photos don't really show the real color of the case.

InCase's "Blueberry" case looks purple on their page, but in actuality it's really blue. I want to know about Speck's "Peacock" color. I'm thinking it's probably a lot more turquoise than they lead on. I hate investigating every time I want to consider a case color; save me!

I'm using a clear bottom and blue top Speck SeeThru. This is just a very old photo though..

I use clear or soft black. theres already pictures of those. I also have apple green but I dont use it much.

I was tempted to freeball it but i noticed a large gouge out of the bottom of the plastic. no idea how it happened but that would have been a severe scratch had it been on the aluminum.

I had a red one on my previous MBP.

My new one I was running naked, but there's already some scratches on the bottom, and a small indentation on the top (did a lot of traveling this year and I guess it did not fare as well in my trips). So I think I am going to go with the speck black or the orange one (I think it is called clementine) before anything worse happens, and to kind of cover up what already has happened. :(

Just trying to choose between the two colors at this point.
