I was wondering if the steam from a shower would damage the MBP.

Sometimes I like to take my MBP into the bathroom to play some songs while I shower. My bathroom is fairly large, and I leave the door open and turn on the fan to get rid of as much steam as possible. My mirror does not fog up.

Do you think the steam could damage the computer?

Don't watch porn on your MBP while you're having a shower. Sheesh!

Assuming you really are just going to "listen to music" (sure, you are...), it's a really daft idea.

If you're going to do that, get some speakers and plug them into your MBP which is located outside the shower area, and run the speakers into the bathroom. That way, the worst that can happen is that your speakers will die a humid death.

Yes, I think very high humidity creates a hostile environment for your MBP.

Get some cheap speakers, man. But if you're 100% sure the mirror is not fogging up, and if your mbp is further, I guess you'll be fine. But, dude, get some cheap speakers, wire extension, and leave your machine outside when your hot water's running. Humidity + electronics = RMA.

The last thing you want is when you visit an Apple Genius to get the <<insert problem>> fixed, Apple saying it's no longer under warranty as the water sensors have been tripped.

Yes, there's still moisture in the air. Put the laptop down and shower, you really don't need to use it in the bathroom - its not designed for such usage.
Unless you're using it on the can on top of one of those nifty jerk stations laptop stands.

If you really need porn in the shower, you can buy waterproof screens and speakers.

Seriously get cheap speakers and cabling.

haha! But seriously, I used to always take my computer in the bathroom when I showered. I even bought speakers to have there and everything.

That said, it isn't the best idea. I did it because I had 3 computers at the time and didn´t care if one broke.

Ive taken my macbook in the bathroom while I shower. I keep the door open. no steam even accumulates. Its risky, but I don't do it on a daily basis.

If I need it in the shower, I take my iPod touch (or iPhone if you have one) and put it in a freezer strength Zip Lock bag. Waterproof, but you can still use the touch screen. You know what to do from here.

Never though about using a laptop for porn while taking a nice healthy shower

LOL
