Shuffle Questions

Hi,
I was thinking about getting an iPod Shuffle because of the small size and affordability with my budget. I was wondering, what happens without a screen? Do the songs just stay in a specific order? Also, are there any other things that I should know before buying it?

the songs stay either in the order you of your playlist or they are shuffled, from which you can return to the normal playlist
