First off, I'm in no way associated with Shure nor receive any kind of product or remuneration therefrom.

I scored one of the Shure MPA for iPhones at my local Apple Store today. Love it. High quality flexible cabling (not too long, I like that) mates a small mic and control button to an iPhone jack-friendly mini plug. You plug your favorite headphones into the other end...they work for phone calls and audio. Simple tool, not much to talk about, but solid, well built, and well designed.

Blows the Belkin outta the water (what were they thinking, looks like a 1.5" antenna is protruding from my iPhone when I use it), sure it's $10 and doesn't have a mic so it's a totally different product...I know.

But at any rate, love it, been making and answering calls with it through my Bose headphones...great quality in and out (well, for a GSM phone on ATT's crappy network, it's great quality given the weakest links in the chain).

Thanks for the review. I also have a pair of Bose QC2's, which I've been using with an Apple headphone adapter. Glad to know the mic and remote work well.

I'm hoping to pick up the MPA in the next day or so from a local Apple Store.

Hummm...

So they have these in the Apple stores now? Going to have to go see if they have them at one of the ones here. *cough* just another excuse to get in the Apple store to spend money :p

good reports...

On Apple's website, I've seen good reports on these. I'm going to pair this with some very nice Ultimate Ears ones. It will be interesting how the mic performs in the outdoors, especially with wind.

I like the idea of it controlling the ipod advance songs optiion and working seamlessly with the phone.

Had done that once with the stock buds and no comment from the caller. But I really hate the stock buds. They felt terrible in the ear and the sound was only okay.

The Ultimate Ears ear plugs are outstanding. The Shure plug comes today. should be cool.

How are you going to deal with UE's long cord and right angle jack?
