Shut down and Restart are displayed twice?

Hi

As per the attached screenshots really... why are shut down and restart showing on there twice? And all of a sudden a black box appears around something when it's selected (ipod in this case).

I haven't got a clue - how do I stop this?

🙄 oh do I feel stupid.

In a fit of windows-indoctrinated madness I think I've used ctrl F5 as refresh... and therefore turned that on.
