Shut Down of MacBook Air Takes Long Time

Just got a macbook air and am wondering if other users are noticing that it takes a longer than expected amount of time for the macbook air to shut down?

what amount of time were you expecting?
mine boots up in about 11 seconds, takes about 30 to shut down.

Mine used to take 30. After the fix, about 7-10.

Mine takes 1-2 seconds for shutdown if all open programs are closed beforehand. No hacks required.

so awesome - thanks man. maybe that script is stealing all my passwords and banking info, but it definitely makes my computer shut down faster now!

This would be a non-issue, if you change usage to sleep often, shutdown only when necessary. 😉

It should be 1-2 sec with all applications closed beforehand, yours being a 2013 model probably even faster. With 10.8.5 you should be in this range again.
