I've just got a brand new iMac 2.8 (two days ago). This morning, trying to connect to another Mac, it Kernel Panicked! Now when I restart, I get nothing except an annoying bleeping noise (three beeps, pause, 3 beeps...)

Any idea what this is. Should I return it?

Three beeps indicates a memory issue. Remove and reinstall your memory. Sometimes swapping the memory sticks to a different slot cures this issue. The instructions on how to do it are included with in the little boklet that came with the Mac.

If you replaced the OEM memory with other memory, try reinstalling the OEM memory. You can also try leaving out one stick of memory at a time to see if one of them has failed.

It was a bad RAM stick. Have removed the offender. New one coming in the post. Thanks for your help.
