I welcome the change and think it is well worth it!

Plus there is a demo so if you don't like it just delete it after trying it.

I despise in app purchases. Have spent $275 on roblox game for my kid. $5 nickel and dime and a year later. It’s that much. I added it all up.

Rather just pay once and be done with it. Maybe if game has major update pay more. But I’d rather pay $60 for the game and pay once.

One less reason to upgrade my soon-to-be-7-year-old iMac. Instead, I may buy the next 12.9” iPad.

Is there any chance to know the price for the game after the 60th (last) free turn? The app store does not tell any info on the in-app purchases or I am too dumb and can’t find it out myself.

It’s a cult game.

Pp It’s $60, but there is a promo window until January 4th, when the game can be had for twice less. Guess 30$/€ is not a bad deal.

$30 is an absolute steal for this on the iPad Pro. It somehow keeps up with my overclocked i7 4790K (4.6 GHz), if not even beating it on a standard 8-player map. That both astonishes me and kind of makes me feel uncomfortable at the same time. On top of it, the battery life was enough to last a bit over 200 (!!!!!) turns.

I hope Aspyr decides to keep updating the game to at least keep game logic parity with the desktop version on Steam. The DLC isn't as important to me as keeping the base logic updated. I can definitely tell this is using older AI compared to the current version on Steam.

This is truly a masterpiece and shows us what the iPad Pro is capable of. I was expecting to see more discussion about it here...

Yeah, it is amazing. My ipad pro (2017) runs civ 6 so much better than my 13" 2017 macbook pro.

Didn’t keep up with this, that’s interesting and hope this does REALLY well. While I’ve said I don’t really ”need” AAA games on the iPad, that doesn’t mean I don’t welcome them!

I was playing Civilization Revolution on the phone (loved it) until it ‘became obsolete’ and they pulled it...I’ve downloaded this and will take a look but what with the apple uncertainty at the price I might give it a miss...( probably not though )

Good to see this scale of game on IOS.

The 2017 iPad Pro's geekbench just under 10,000, so in theory should be comparable to a 2.9Ghz i5 Macbook Pro 13''.

Tried it on my 9.7'' Pro and the game is fantastic, even with weaker hardware. These are the games the iPad and iOS need!

Is there any way to play this over internet?

In multiplayer there is only ”local network”-option.

Got it to have a bit of a play around with, some quick thoughts:

+ it runs really well. No lag, stutter or excessive loading times.

= The art style is ok but the draw distance seems very limited.

- I don’t know if it’s Civ 6 in general or the iPad port, but it seems really unintuitive. I much prefer Civ Vs way of doing things.

Can you be on Discord at the same time as playing the game (with sounds)?

Would definitely Buy this If any when.

#1. I get my 2018 IPad Pro A11X drool.
#2. Can find out if we can Improve Our Civilization in 6 Past the Space Age, we start in prehistoric times it’s fun to go forward Past Modern Times.
#3. IPad Now Definitely needs Mouse Support.
#4. Any Special Clicks or Interactivity with the Apple Pencil ✏️ feel like there’s missed potential there.

I tried the demo and was pretty impressed by how it good it was. It definitely doesn't feel like some watered down version, and I'm playing on a 10.5". Probably wouldn't buy it myself since I have a gaming PC and Macs, but if the iPad was your one of your only devices, this would totally be worth $60 since it's the full featured game.

If this game doesn't prove the capabilities of the iPad these days, I don't know what will.

Or 30 bucks for the next few days only.

Any solution on the multiplayer problem? I mean, how to play local network games over the internet...

Revolution 1 or Revolution 2 ?
If version 2, you may have some hope, as it seems back...

Version 1...just checked out 2 and it looks good...though I’ve now bought VI and it’s running on iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen with no problems so far....enjoying the experience!

Just in case it wasn't clear, there aren't actually "In App" purchases with Civ VI. They're just using the in app purchase mechanism to allow for free trial downloads. There's only one in app purchase and it's to buy the full game.

It is still an in app purchase, so while it's a once off, it's still for only one account. In app purchases cannot be used by my other family members under family sharing, so if someone else wants it then we need to do the in app purchase multiple times. If it could be purchased as an app outright and not via the in app purchase option then it can be used by my family members under family sharing for the one purchase cost. I'm all for this method allowing people to trial the game with a limited number of moves, but when it comes to buying the game, I'd like to buy it outright and not as an in app purchase that can't be shared.
