Anyone else think it’s strange that it works on the 2017 iPad but not the iPhone 6s since they both have the same chipset?

Just downloaded it. The free one doesn't give me any options for games like on the PC version. Can't choose what kind nor size of map, can't choose which civilization to play as. However, paying for it opens up the options.

I've used the Civilization franchise -- specifically, my machine's ability (or not) to run the latest version -- as the bellwether for deciding when it's time to replace my desktop.
Now it's gonna do the same for my phone.

Aaaah, of course - I forgot it was a stupid IAP because of Apple's stupid ban on trials/demos, forcing people to use IPAs as a workaround. I'll do a restore purchases...
Screen already seemed a little cramped on the iPad version, so I’m sure the phone will be worse... but it’s Civ. Gotta have it
I wonder if it would just be a massive battery drain on the 6s with all the AI (especially late in the game) and that's why they didn't put it on the list. The 2017 iPad at least has a much larger battery to back it up.
Its a pretty big battery drain on my Xs Max, so I can't imagine how bad it would be on older models. My phone doesn't heat up though, so that's a plus.
It's just the base game, no expansion? Are they going to port the expansions eventually too like they did for Mac?

I really haven't noticed it to be a huge drain on my battery... just my time! I am impressed with how fast it plays on the Max...
Anyone who already had this for iPad know if the IAPs price are discounted too or if that's the normal price for them?
It's the FULL game, including many of the DLC, (partial) mod support (!). The only thing it is missing is the strategy view. And Rise and Fall expansion is coming later.
No cloud save support yet. You can move save files around with iTunes File Sharing if you have to. But it does need a computer.
I'm totally going to work again, just after this one more turn.
Help me understand. I bought this last year on my Mac via Steam and have been playing pretty much daily. Why is it free to iPad users, but not Mac users who've already chipped in just as much?
Because the Mac version is full fledged and the free version needs to be unlocked with an IAP.
