It seems that this is pretty rare. I can’t find many others with the same issue. Price estimates for repairs look to be almost as much as a brand new series 8… so a repair might be useless.
Ugh I was hoping this wouldn’t be the case. Especially with the series 9 likely coming out in just a few months. I was already planning on upgrading to that, but I might need to upgrade to a series 8 now.Not sure about waterproofing either but…. I suspect it’s time to start looking at a new watch
I've definitely not experienced that. Even if waterproofing isn't compromised, I'd treat it as if it were to be on the safe side.
Does the button reseat into its original position or close to it? If so, you might be able to get a thin fit case that will stabilize it in place (or at least make it less noticeable. That might not be too bad if it's only for a few months until the Series 9 comes out.

The button is essential just a little popped out. I can push it back down, but it doesn’t stay. The button function fortunately still works. It’s really the waterproofing that I was worried about.
